The Category Import/Export plugin is a simple yet powerful tool that simplifies the process of importing or exporting categories and subcategories in XLS format. The plugin saves you time as you can create a table of categories and subcategories and add them to your classifieds page in just a few clicks.
How it works
If you have a large number of listings, each related to multiple categories, the plugin allows you to upload custom categories instead of manually adding them one by one using the Add Category option in the backend. Conversely, you can easily export the existing categories to an XLS file and use it for other websites.
In addition, the plugin can help you create an identical set of subcategories for a set of parent categories.
Backend
After installing the plugin, you can immediately proceed to exporting/importing categories. To do this, you need to fill an XLS file with categories and subcategories and make sure that its structure is compatible with that of the sample file provided with the plugin.
To make sure your file is compatible with the plugin, we recommend that you first export standard categories to an XLS file and then edit the file by adding your custom categories. Once you have filled the file with categories, you can save it and upload it to the website.
